Dave, now that you mention it I could have thought of that myself:-))

Next time I'm at the Maasvlakte you have to tell me all about the Rotterdam spotters!

Cheers,
Jens

person
Jens, you have to learn more about Rotterdam spotters,
We call them Boobships ! ; )

Hihi, yes, exactly David. But I didn't know the correct technical term in English so I had to describe it somehow:-)

Well, let's hope for Blohm & Voss then. I only saw one gas tanker at B&V though, that was Mourad Didouche some years ago...

"Christmas tree balls":-) I guess you're refering to stuff like the "Arctic Princess" etc. Still, it's a nicely fitting characterization, I'd say.

Me too, I ever wanted to catch one of this species, but as you say, the viable opportunities are very limited. Apart from Rotterdam, only the Skaw roads come to my mind. Maybe one of them will make the way to Blohm & Voss one day. Keep my fingers crossed;)

Thank you very much David, your comments are always welcome and much appreciated:-)

I think Rotterdam must be paradise for a fan of tankers. Gas tankers on the Elbe? Only for dry docking at Blohm & Voss I believe:-(
I'd likle to have one of those with the "Christmas tree balls" in front of my camera one day, but I suppose they are rare birds at Rotterdam, too...

Beautiful shot Jens, it's quite a smart looking tanker as well! A pity that gas tankers like her scarcely ever make their way upriver Elbe to the port of Hamburg. We have to chase them elsewhere...
