Built for Aristidis Alafouzos (Glafki Maritime, Athens, Greece) amongst a series of sisters. At the time Aristidis Alafouzos had a huge newbuilding programme in Japan consisting of Freedom, Fortune type tween deckers as well as SD-14s in Austin & Pickersgill. During the mid to late 80's the company switched almost entirely to tanker business by buying second hand panama and aframax type crude tankers. Today, the company is headed by his two sons and is a major tanker owner with suezmaxes and aframaxes.
