For the time being I have moved this (and the other one on site) to "ships to be reclassified", pending further info on whetherthe ship is to be completed as something, or just become a "Wreck & Relic"

Yes, correct George. I am also reading "ΕΛΚΕΘΕ" on her wheelhouse !

Nektarie thank you for info. Definitely a weird - strange design in my opinion. All her appearance, does not look like a motor yacht.
Now, to confirm you for the informations which gave us, lettering behind the wheelhouse in this photo are (very likely) ΕΛΚΕΘΕ (in English : HCMR - Hellenic Centre for Marine Research).

I finally found some info for this one.
Her name is "FALCON" and she is not a naval ship. She was built in 1982-83 at Elefsis as a commercial motor yacht/tour boat. Her initial owner took a loan from the Greek ETBA Bank in order to build her but he never finished her so the ownership was transferred to the bank. She was bought in 1985 by the Institute of Marine Biology, Crete (ΙΘΑΒΙΚ) using funds from the 2nd European Community Support Framework in order to be converted to a Research Vessel. She was never converted and after the merging of the Institute of Marine Biology, Crete (ΙΘΑΒΙΚ) and the Hellenic Centre of Maritime Research (ΕΚΘΕ) to form ΕΛΚΕΘΕ (www.hcmr.gr) in 2003 the project was abandoned.

@ D173457Q

Why do you not upload the photo in highest possible res. instead of only 1380 x 1036 px.?
