Thanks Phil. One of them listed as TUANA NAZ (IMO 9463152) of 5500dwt, though listed as a tanker. Status: "Not commenced, cancelled before construction". Yard No. GA-04.

The other one IMO 9483578 is listed as Yard No. "05" at an unspecified "Istanbul shipyard", identical to TUANA NAZ and also cancelled before construction.

Whether or not the ship types were right, these two can be eliminated form the photo ID, I think.

The blurb on http://akargrup.com/hizmetlerimiz.html claims that there are two sisterships to AYTEK, TUANANAZ and CEYDA-A. However, neither appear to have been built.

Anyone with Seaweb access, check out the photo there - looks the same.

But there may be other candidates.

Perhaps an unfinished newbuilding from one of the local shipyards. The crudely applied name might suggest that she's from one of the now many bankrupt facilities and in the hands of administrators/banks.

But I am speculating wildly!
