ATLAS was owned by brother George and Dimitris Procopiou (Sea Traders S.A., Glyfada, Greece). Brothers set up the company in 1974 and started to buy second hand tween deckers and heavy lifters mainly from Hansa Line in Hamburg, with tc back attached for some period. Later on the two brothers split up their interests, young brother Dimitris set up Centrofin Management and George set up Dynacom Tankers Management also retaining Sea Traders S.A. Today both companies are major ones with Dynacom owning some 50 tankers and Sea Traders some 25 bulkers. Centrofin owns a mixed fleet of tankers and bulkers of abt 20 ships.
