Hi Barry. At the camera location be prepared to shoot through a cyclone fence. This was the only shot where I managed to avoid showing wire. I look forward to taking you there, and to Manns Point for arrival and departure pics

Interesting that her port history shows Armed Guards Onboard on 3 May. I wonder what that was all about. Great shot by the way. I must try to get to that location on my next trip down under.

Yes Kyle, OCEAN DRAGON is a good example indeed.(20 years ago!..Wow.)And yes..many a camouflage job is being done with paint...but applies much more to some TERRIBLE passenger ships currently.(Simply horrible.)
I just think it's high time, some more consideration was given to cargo ships in general as regards the accommodation"block" design. Those recent "Anti-Piracy" vessels were interesting from that point of view.
Cheers & regards, Steve.

Or is the superstructure design that new? Other than the paint job, the basic shape seems to me just like a much smaller version of that seen on many large bulkers from the 1990's.
For example, OCEAN DRAGON of 1995:

Ha!Ha! Capt Ted "A VW Claim"....yes, along with a few more according to today's news.....
But an interesting change of superstructure for a cargo vessel I think.
About time someone gave it some serious thought & modernised the overall look of commercial vessels.

Well Clyde,, they bragging it reduces 10-20 % consumption but they don,t say how they do it beside "various different innovations" which means in the end nothing

Or is it a VW claim ?

Is that claim based on under water hull design ? The front of the bridge is angled,, otherwise I don,t see much,,the bulbous bow seems to be bigger than normal ?

Wow Clyde, really a nice shot. And the stylish tanker on this shot easily scores off the (usually dominating) Sydney architecture!
Best regards, David
