The Empire D type MAROUDIO is seen on Gravesend buoys early in September 1965. She had sailed from Sapele on 1st July 1965 bound for Gdynia and then London where she arrived on 17th August 1965. By January 1966 she was on her way from Genoa to Abidjan as THALIE.

Launched as EMPIRE GANTOCK, she had served "K" SS Co Ltd as MARTITA from completion in August 1946 until sold in 1960 to Bray Shipping Co Ltd (B.E.Mavroleon) to trade as MAROUDIO. As THALIE she finally arrived at Vado on 15.6.68 for breaking.
