Very beautiful photograph of a great ship.

Hi Gordy, CARONIA visited Auckland 6th to 8th February 1951 when I think this photo was taken. Shaw Savill CUFIC (Miramar ID 1169702) is berthed on the other side of Queens Wharf. CUFIC was built at Portland, Maine in 1943 as SAMRICH and was sold by Shaw Savill in 1953 before CARONIA made another visit to Auckland. Kind regards, John.

Pity that this great photograph is not in colour,, because CARONIA was overall painted in the distinctive 'light green' colour with addition of the 'red' Cunard funnel;

When I was a kid, CARONIA was my favourite liner .........
