Description:

The 1962 Hawthorn Leslie, Hebburn, built ELLION HOPE, the former OCEAN TRANSPORT of Houlder Brothers purchased in 1979 by the "London Greek" Ion Dadakardis, is seen approaching Eastham locks on 7th July 1981 inbound for Manchester to load cargo for India on the Anchor Line berth.

ELLION HOPE finally arrived at Gadani Beach for breaking on 27th February 1983.

Many thanks Mike. The ship was memorable for a number of reasons. I think that she may have been the last Anchor Line loader at Manchester before they moved to Liverpool or Birkenhead and then finally closed. Also as she came close to missing the tide.
