Headland Park Lookout.
Bus Route 244 City to Chowder Bay. After passing Mosman, 15 minute walk from Suakin Road bus stop,.
By car. Military Road to Middle Head Road, turn right at Suakin Drive. At Gunshot Alley, right then left to parking spaces. Picnic areas. No toilets. 270 degree views from City to Heads to Manly
Location for shots of vessels in shipping channels, and at Chowder Bay Naval Wharf, and Bank Anchorage

Thanks Glenn for a Comment about Indian Dawn. She is quite a traveler according to her Port History and the magnificent shots from Chris Howell at Bluff NZ

The Destine was built in 2013 as an Oil Products Tanker, and most bunkering craft usually smaller ships, she is just smaller than the Indian Dawn. Wonder if she was built then became surplus to requirement

I just might be wrong, but I am pretty sure that the bunkering tanker has enough life-rafts on-board to meet local regulations

@ phantom53. My belief is the same as yours. The little runabout by the crane would hardly suffice

I have not seen her go to sea since she arrived.

Clyde, you say the distance of the lifeboat from the crew area, well Destine doesn't even have a lifeboat, cradle is empty, I was lead to believe that all ships had to have at least one.

Thanks Jadran. The distance of the lifeboat from the crew area surprises me.

DESTINE usually needs tug assistance. A replacement on 21 December is forecast by a 1ocal WSS member. When needed ANATOMA comes up from Botany Bay.

The now becoming 'famous' DESTINE (thanks to Shipspotting.com) can actually be seen on any & all locations within the Sydney harbour premises ....... (is she the only bunkering tanker at Sydney ?? )

: much interesting shot/composition & well done photo, Clyde, nevertheless that the weather was utterly not on your side;
best regards / jadran
