Built alongside the similar MS Chrobry to replace the aging SS Kościuszko and SS Pułaski on the South American line.

Place and year of construction: 1937, Swan Hunter & Wigham Richardson, Newcastle, England.
Raising the flag: June 15, 1939[1].
Shipowner: Gdynia-Ameryka Linie Żeglugowe SA, Gdynia America Line (GAL),
During World War II, it was rebuilt into a troop transport[2].
April 1947 - from Gdynia he transported Polish children to Denmark with the help of the Red Cross
After the war (1947-50) she sailed under the Polish flag on the Genoa-New York route
In 1950 it was sold to the USSR and the name was changed to M/S "Gruziya „. Home port: Odessa. As "Gruziya „ this ship visited Gdynia several times. While sailing as "Gruziya „ , he survived, among others, undersea earthquake.
Scrapping - April 1975, Italian shipyard in La Spezia.
