MOBY GALAXY it seems to be the new name for the GALAXY and not MOBY KISS as reported earlier. The new owners seems that the new name is more appropriate maybe.

The GALAXY has arrived with two names GALAXY on her stern, BANASA on her bows. Now she would be leaving with another name the MOBY KISS....well what's in a name as long as she will stay afloat. Good luck to her.

Banasa was beached at Aliaga on 26/8/15 but was resold to be used as accommodation ship, She Sailed from Aliaga on 30th September 2015 under tow

Correct Hawkeye.

Apparently she is quite a useful vessel despite her age: She's structurally sound and with a big vehicle capacity - and a large deadweight capacity for freight too. Modern engines. the rest is cosmetic.

Wasn't she beached at the breakers in Turkey and towed off again after being resold?

Thanks rd77, MOBY KISS ,another name, that is good news, so She will be returning to the Italian register.Let us hope that this last naming will not be the Kiss of Death.
regards.

Hi Emmanuel,

Sold first to an Albanian owner, then sold on to Moby Lines of Italy who will recommission her this Spring as MOBY KISS:

The GALAXY / BANASA has been tied up since more than a month ago ,now she is drydocked .I wonder if she has been reprieved from the scrap heap or she is being examined for the eventual last voyage at the end of a tow rope to a tug to breakers, hope not, she could have some more years of service ahead ,though maybe not in European waters.
maybe some members have more info.
regards.
