Description:
I shot these 2 veterans in Holmestrand, Norway about 1995. SS "Forlandet" IMO 5117779) taking a rest while towing SS "Styrbjørn" (IMO 6403084) to yard in Drammen for maintence work. "Forlandet" has been a whale catcher in the Antarctic, later rebuilt for tug operations. SS "Styrbjørn", built in 1910 for tug operations in Narvik, taking care of the huge ore ships. She is 29,42 meter long, has a 550 HP Compund steam engine making her a speed of 12 knots. Worked in Narvik until 1963, later veteran, normally based in Oslo.
