Hello ASvetlin,

Thanks for your comment. I am land based in Korea, but I travel a lot, and always try to take as many photos of ships as possible... :)

Hey Vlad.
First of all, great shot. You're making very nice pictutres.
Second, do you work on ship or something, because you take photo in Korea and than in Koper. I take lots of pictures there too.

Checked other pics on shipspotting, also your picture Vlad of the Algol, and the only thing I can come up with now is that it has something to do with ventilation. I've heard of some modification of direct ventilation to the turbo's of the main engine, instead of having them taking air from the engine room.
They even seem to have lowered the monorail for this.
Cheers,
Roy

Hi rd77,
Could be, though maersk is sailing with ULSFO (ultra low sulfur fuel oil) in SECA's (sulfur emission control area). And for sure they are not all the time sailing in SECA's which would make it an expensive investment. Also haven't heart that any of the ship's are fitted with a scrubber.
Anyway that structure was nowhere there before the heightening of the accommodation, so once again you could be right, but personally I guess not.
Cheers,
Roy

Maybe the structure is a housing for an exhaust gas scrubber? Just a thought...

Hi Roy,
Thanks for your comment. This structure aft of the accommodation caught my eye, too - and I have no idea what it is...

Cheers

Hi Vlad,
Nice one, nowadays it starts to be rarity to spot one without extended bridge.
Strange structure aft of the accommodation.
Cheers,
Roy
