as a young boy I saw several of the Pahl yards newbuildings running down the slipway. Always a spectacle.
Due to the limited space of the Köhlfleet, the river arm where the Pahl Werft was located, all their newbuildings had to be stopped with long wires or ropes. Otherwise they would have ended up on the rocky riverbank opposit the yard.
It was a sudden stop and the newbuildings made funny movements. Like shivering. Must have been a heavy impact on all the gear and fastenings.
All Pahl vessel were of exepcionally nice looking design. Maybe any of our experts might know the yards designers.
Thanks for posting
Jürgen
