Helsinki in July 1999. IMO 5103936. Ex-EMPRESS OF CANADA 1961, MARDI GRAS 1972, OLYMPIC 1993, STAR OF TEXAS 1994, APOLLON 1995, OLYMPIC 2004 1997-1998.

*Arrived for demolition in Alang, India on December 5, 2003 and scrapped by Jain Shipbreaking Co. Renamed APOLLO for her last voyage

In my opinion one of the most beautiful ships ever built!

Yes, I agree, one of the most beautiful liners. I was on board her when this picture was taken. A most enjoyable cruise.

Nice shot.... I believe she was also the Mardi Gras when I saw her back in 1982 in Florida while I was boarding the Carnivale

Totally agree! Nothing so gorgeous as the old passenger-ships.
