Technically I suppose that a Coast Guard is an operator, and not a 'class' of ship.
Regards, Brian.

There's a lot of CCGS's that are icebreakers but placed in Coast Guard... What's correct & does the IHS list those as "Coast Guard"?

Why is this ship classed as a container ship not as a Icebreaker s she is built for as seen she Is a Canadian Cost Guard ship

It seems that the cover of ice is not so bad, actually three ships downbound on the St-Lawrence, Quebec Express (imo 9294836) Federal Mass(imo 9118135)and Laurentia Desgagnes (imo 9334703)

Yes coast guard as close the shipping between sorel and 3 river. You should see an msc ship anchored near you.

I don't know if The St-Lawrence is closed between Sorel and Trois-Rivieres but actually, two icebreakers Ccgs Amundsen and Ccgs Des Groseilliers also two hovercrafts Ccgs Mamilossa and Ccgs Sipu Muin are working together since this morning.

Thanks Jack for pictures of the scene.
Do you know why Lac St-Pierre is close to shipping? Is there an ice jam out there?
Thanks
