Okay, so it's 80s. Well, then I can use my birthdate as a satisfactory excuse:-)) Never heard of this Trigger Broom, Phil.

Nonetheless, thank you very much for your nice compliment!

Regards, David

Yes, Pieter. Similar I guess. My analogy relates to a popular 80s TV character, a road sweeper with a "20 year old broom that has had 17 new heads and 14 new handles".

Phil, I thought the joke was about Grandfather's axe. That at least is the one that goes around about chassis numbers for historic racing cars.

@rd77: what happened to the old stern section? Scrapped or re-used? Same question re hold/bow sections.

Re. Ijsseldelta, Trigger's broom comes to mind, but I guess that joke will be lost on our non-UK based friends :-)

Great photo anyway!

Ralph (rd77), thank you for this piece of information! I was already wondering if there were 2 or 3 different "Ijsseldeltas" in the game, all sharing the same IMO, but your explanation brings back logic:-))

It is a good capture to get two dredges to number 1 on the Home page, instead of monster cruise and container ships or wrecks and casualities

The IJSSELDELTA is a very interesting ship. She was originally built in 1978, but in 2010 the stern was replaced and last year the mid and front sections were replaced, so it is a completely new ship we see here!

Two valuable members of our ever-present Hamburg dredger squad. We frequently meet, but nontheless I like them a lot.
...and I moreover LIKE your smart comment my friend! Thank you very much for the props.

Kind regards, David
