Description:
Steamship "Kysten", built 1909 at Trondhjems Mekaniske Værksted, Trondheim, Norway, for local traffic Trondheim -Namsos-area. After the years 1964-1971 as "Askaas" in the Southern part of Norway, she was bought as "Kysten 1" to Tønsberg, a maritime city west of the Oslofjord. From 2010 renamed "Kysten". Dimension: 140 x 21 feet. She has been heavily restored for several years. It is hoped that this beautiful old Lady will be sailing by own engine in 2016, ready to continue wonderful trips on the coast and between the many islands around. She is quite a sight when sailing, without much noice. The name "Kysten" means the Coast.
