Description:
The former Spanish tanker Juan de Austria, became ASIAN GLORY in 1979 (no idea under which ownership). In 1983 she was sold on (becoming MARA HOPE) and during the reactivitating process (while laid up at Port Neches)she caught fire, was extensively damaged and sold sold scrap to Taiwan. On her way around Cape Horn she grounded off Fortaleza and was abandoned.
Here shown in the 7th Petroleum Dock, with an extreme telelense, (200 mm plus 2x converter). This gives a silly impression about the inclination of the fore and aft deck, but I have no other shots.
Former name(s):
- Asian Glory (Until 1983)
