Converted to a Royal Navy destroyer for the shooting of DUNKIRK the movie by Christopher Nolan
As HMS BASILISK H 11 support the evacuation from DUNKIRK but was sunk by 3 air attacks on 1 June 1940.

Ridiculous! Anyone who's familiar with what a W.W. II destroyer looks like, American or British, is going to see through this fakery in a minute. If the film strives for historical accuracy, theatregoers will be sadly disappointed.

I'm sure if enough money had changed hands they could have persuaded Chatham to release HMS CAVALIER for some filming - she'd at least look the part.

Pathetic! This vessel could pass as a Flower class corvette but a B-class destroyer is just laughable. Why bother when life like computer animation is readily available......
