Description:

Like Rick wrote a month ago, "loading commences for maiden voyage at Xingang, China on 12/06/2016.
ETA at first North European port is 1900 hrs 18/07/2016 at *Southampton*, followed by Antwerp, Bremerhaven, Gothenburg, Aarhus, Wilhelmshaven, Bremerhaven."

...

Today is supposed to be the day of the beginning of her maiden voyage, but here she is, although a Samsung vessel, at a floating dock of STX shipyard in Goseong, Korea.

(...long story...)

Thanks for comments. These scenes from Korea will continue for some time, but not for long. SHI does still have some OOCL ultra-larges in the pipeline, but after that (say half a year, or so) there is absolutely nothing. Gloomy weather when this photo was taken describes the situation in Korean shipyards pretty well.

Cheers

Vlad

More huge container ships. Do the shipowners know something that the rest of us common mortals don't?

Hi Vlad,

Many thanks for the update! I guess that's because of the bright container-market....

Today I was in "your territory", this morning we left Busan new terminal.
Sadly thick haze, or simply fog, so no chance of a view of the Daewoo shipyard.

Cheers,
Roy
