The western chamber of the Prinses Beatrix lock complex is seen here at Nieuwegein/Province of Utrecht (The Netherlands). The twin locks connect the Amsterdam - Rhine Canal and the River Lek via the short Lek Canal with some 50,000 vessels transiting here per year.
