Description:
Passing close to Battery Point, Portishead, at speed on the evening tide of Sunday 3rd July 1966, so exactly fifty years ago today, was Clan Line Steamers Limited's 1962 Greenock built CLAN GRANT outbound from Avonmouth on a voyage which started at Chittagong on 9th May with a call at Madras on 29th May. She was bound for London, Boulogne, Antwerp, Bremen, Dundee, Dublin and finally Liverpool.
CLAN GRANT was one of Clan Line's final ships, not being sold until 1980 when she passed to Hong Kong based owners who renamed her ENRIQUETA but sold her to Chinese breakers in January 1985.
