Ship refused permission to discharge cargo by NZ Ministry of Primary Industries yesterday. We'll have to wait to see what the owners decide to do next.

She was in port 6-24 September, before going to anchorage. Presumably it was on arrival that the problems were identified, and she was blocked from unloading. I suppose now at anchorage to free berth and/or save port costs.

She was due here in Wellington on 23rd and then the 29th but didn't arrive. The Radio NZ and Sunday Star Times state at anchor since 6 September, but news sources here are not always accurate.

Anchored since September 6?
I'm sure I've seen her docked at Tauranga port on September 13.

Cheers

The MV Molat has been anchored off the coast of Tauranga, New Zealand since 6 September, when it was blocked from docking because of paperwork problems with its cargo of 23,000 tonnes of PKE (Palm Kernal Extract), and is awaiting a decision from the NZ Ministry of Primary Industries on whether to allow the shipment in. The extract is from an unregistered supplier in Malaysia. Allowing an unregistered source of animal feed to enter the country poses a bio-security risk.
