Three sister ships : MUNKSUND , HOLMSUND , TUNADAL.
1997/98 I served on board of TUNADAL - renamed to ABITIBI JOHN CABOT . Originally in service between Sweden (Bay of Bothnia ) and England ( Thames ).
Later on chartered by Abitibi Consolidated . Some few months in servive between Newfoundland (Bootwood , Stephenville ) and Liverpool , Terneuzen .From the October 1997 sent for loading newsprint to Dalhousie (New Brunswick ;CA) . Cargo delivered to destination ports of San Juan ( Puerto Rico) and Puerto Limon (CostaRica). Next couple of trips were done from Dalhousie to Brasil ( Receife , Rio de Janeiro , Santos). The vessel was sold ( mid of 1998) and renamed to MARINETTE. All three vessels originally build for Gorthon Lines ( Helsingborg ; Sweden).
Lowely ships , easy for maintein by crew . I am very sorry to see her in such condition ...

She was built in 1967 by Lindholmens, Göteborg as one of three sister ships for S.C.A. Transport A/B, Sundsvall, Sweden (Svenska Cellulosa A/B) as a self unloading paper products carrier.

That is what the Beauharnois municipality officials are afraid of, and the spilling that would result. The ship has been abandoned there fore some years now.

Cut those mooring lines and she'd topple right over I'm sure.
