I have over the years scanned thousands of my old slides with high quality scanners. I tended to prefer doctoring the pic after the scan rather than before or under. The scanner software never quite offered what other dedicated programs do. But be that as it may, for something like this pic AND maximum ease nothing beats Google's Picasa. "Automatic colour" - 1 click - gives a spectacularly nice result. The program is for free, and even though it is a Google program it can easily be tweaked to leave you complete in peace with regards to nosiness or ad intrusiveness. Just always remember to keep an untampered copy of the original. Cheers Uwe

The blue hue is caused as much by the type of light in the scanner as much as any deterioration of the slides themselves, although Agfa slides seem to have deteriorated more than Kodak. Only professional level scanners have the type of light source to get better results. I have played around with them using manipulation tools, but at them moment I posting the one's that I feel are Ok without, while accepting that they could be better. I have several thousand which are put to one side for further work when I get time (and patience). I just feel it would be a never ending job if I tried to get every one perfect.

Simon: while I enjoy viewing all your "oldie" pics, I do think it a pity that most of them them are afflicted by "blue hue", probably caused by the slides having deteriorated over the years. I have played around with several of your pics with Photoshop and the results have been quite spectacular - as if the photos were taken yesterday. Do you have a photo manipulation program. If not I would thoroughly recommend you try one. Notwithstanding that, keep them coming.
