Nice catch. The Charlottetown (launched in 1995) was built in Saint John as part of the Canadian Patrol Frigate Project. At the time the largest single shipbuilding order ever issued in Canadian history for the Royal Canadian Navy's Halifax-class frigate program. A total of nine warships were built at the Saint John yard during the 1990's.

Hi MattyBoy, thank you. I doubt that a major, long time shut down would have happened. The Montreux convention remains valid even in case of a regime change inside the country, so the merchant ship transits would remain unaffected. (Maybe a short time restriction would occur for security concerns following the incidents, but that's it)

Best Regards,
Cavit Ege Tulça

Great photo ! If the military coup succeeded would that shut down the Bosphorus or restrict passage of vessels?
