Description:

It's a boat...no, it's a coach! Well, it's both: Riverride offers Danube cruises in Budapest, Hungary by an amphibious coach, the AmphiCoach GTS-1.

Hehe, Vlad - with all the photos of VLCCs and ULCCs and GigaMega whatever CCs you are posting I really have difficulties imagining you on a conventional (!)river (!!) boat (!!!) :-D :-D

Cheers,
Jens

Thanks for your comments. I was taking a tour on a very conventional river boat when I saw this contraption. I was aware of the "bus boat", because I saw the ad before, but I was expecting something more along the lines of DUKW... Instead, I got this interesting vehicle that looks more like a semi-submarine. The view that its passengers get is barely half a meter above water line, so it's an interesting perspective, too.

Cheers

Yes, I remember those Emmanuel....was weird to see a bus on the road being featured on Ship-Spotting!

I must say it looks a bit more "ship-shape" than those WWII DUKW's that took tourists around Liverpool docks......One sank when its propeller snagged an old car-tyre.

Hi lappino, this waterbus, the Amphicoach GTS was built in Corradino,Paola.Malta, I photographed her or one similar undergoing road test at my hometown of Paola and another one whilst being tested for flotation at Kalkara where I talked with her inventor and constructor Mr.Smith , a very down to earth fellow who took time to talk to me,answering all my questions and explaining everything, he praised very much his workers, ex-Malta Drydocks workers, my old workplace.
I posted these photos on the site, which can be seen in my collection on the site.
Thank you for sharing.
best regards
Emmanuel.L.(Malta)

Did you happen to take a ride, Vlad??

Would be nice, if someone (ever) could be able to tell us his experience about this "adventure" ......

Cheers
