Description:

Always a bad situation. Deck washing is not permitted and the wipped up dust can be a real problem. This is at Arabi pilot station,,getting a pilot on and off, peoples on deck, OOW,s up and down because of the pilot change,, nasty stuff

Well,, It is forbidden to wash the deck on the river !!! Vessels who did got already law suits because of it and of course will get a law suit if something goes wrong with the pilot change,,so as Master you damned if you do and if you don,t. The funny part,,when loading is finish,,they wash the loading dock with river water,,2-3 mto the riverside the crew starts washing deck and all hell breaks loose. !!!! Often like that Jadran,,ships are always under different regulations (foreign) as local, but that is all over the world the same,,not just on the mississippi river

..... how could anybody breathe properly in all that dust while walking on the main deck for the pilot change !??

: quite a rare scene to be seen (considering that the vessel is sailing and not in the port under cargo ops !! ) ...

... most probably, not much people have ever seen this rather unusual situation;
