Silvertown isn't even in the Thames Estuary. It's about 30 miles upstream!

Yeah, alright. But we on Greek ships and shipping offices by saying Tilbury we mean the entire area within the Thames estuary.

Acrop: T&L sugar refinery is not at Tilbury but at Silvertown, an industrial area further up the Thames in the London Borough of Newham

She was a work horse of the sugar trades, especially within the Atlantic basin, between the Americas and the Continent. A typical voyage was Cuba to T&L sugar refinery in Tilbury.

The ship was built by IHI- amongst a series - for Vassilios Scarvelis family (Scarmar Shipping, Piraeus, Greece) and was kept for full 32 years with the company!
