It's a good enough photo and it's no longer up for deletion. Can't we just move on now?

Superb photo Ron, wish mine turned out like this!

This is a good shot, I like it. Vivid colors and sharp. I would rather see deletion of photos where the difference between 2 of them by the same photographer on the same day is minimal, like "spot the differences" game.

Looking at a couple of other recently posted photos, can't see why they would stay and these be dropped.

I thought that the one purpose of this site was to share your ship photos (good or not so good photos). Ron keep up the good work on the westeren schelde.
Kind Regards

I Agree with Owen Foley, and on that remark i just want to say:
there are people who take a picture of a ship, and there are those who take pictures, with ships in it.

Some of these comments say a lot more about the one making the comment than about the photo.
Some people must have joyless lives.

Personally, I can see nothing wrong with these images - and regarding the 'perfect' example 2530569, the weather conditions, lighting and position of the sun are all totally different

Just a thought...

First, I like the photo, but I'm with Pieter. With regard to site standards it is overenhanced and should be deleted. The look is not natural.

You asked the members to give their opinion on such photos. So far most say it's ok, some say it's not. In order to be really able to compare would you be willing to upload the same photo once again, less enhanced? Or would you let Pieter have the original (which I would prefer), not manipulated photo so that he can upload it the way he thinks it's "correctly" enhanced?

If so, I would furthermore suggest to start a forum thread where the two photos could be uploaded and then be discussed.

Just my two cents (not as a data editor but as a member)...

Cheers
Jens

Ron if you would do your best a little more with your camera, than the necessity to manipulate the picture becomes much smaller.
And no Hannes this has nothing to do with jealousy, as I said already I can make such images quite easily, but they look unnatural. True, they are sharp, but the lighting is funny as is the contrast, it was not for nothing that I linked to your example of a good shot.

This is a good shot of a CMA CGM ship. Colours look natural not funny contrast, in short this is how it should be done.

Absolutely nothing wrong with this picture!

Pieter, I don't use a polarizer or manipulate my exposure when shooting my photo's. I only enhance them in photoshop and hey are definitely not computer generated. Provocating the admins...certainly not!

Ron, such comments do not contribute to the discussion. Question: Do you use a polarizer, do you manipulate your exposre when shooting the picture, your exiv data show nothing in that direction, You recently posted some shots which I found really acceptable, but then those two shots of an Evergreen ship came along. I am just wondering are you deliberately trying to provocate the admins here?

Oke Pieter... I respect your opinion. But if it hurts your eyes don`t look at them.

Ron, I do not use photoshop but ACDsee and in a very restraint way. I can produce shots like yours easily, but they hurt my eyes.

This is not a photo but a computer generated image. Ron, iy would suit you if you explained to the uninformed how you manipulate lighting and exposure to arrive at these results.

Morning, there are some days when you just can't avoid perfect photoes, they are not often but conditions can come together to produce superlative results. I have seen it, this photo is fine and the administrator needs to probably seek further advice as they may not have experienced that. Enjoy your photoes Ron, look forward to more.
