Lolz, Safely beaching means the Draft Issue Lappino,
Container ship was never be a choice for Gadani buyers, as only 2-3 plots can have the liberty to beach Container vessels till shore, or most of them beached far behind due to Heavy Propellers and draft issue,

Thanks for the info, Primedude!
I understand that vessel's beaching is a tricky operation, and has to be carried out in a controlled and careful manner, but the phrase "safely beached" sounds to me as if a doctor would say that the patient was "safely dead"... :)

Cheers

Hello Vlad. I sailed as a passenger on her on her June July Seattle to Asia loop for Hanjin. I believe she had maybe another four years on her Hanjin charter at the time. Things changed quickly.

Cheers,
Chad

Thanks for the info, Chad, however sad...
I'd say that the vessel of 16 years of age, like the one here, was safer (to survive the next couple of years) than the vessel of 14 years, as the older vessel was past her 3rd special survey and all the related costs (usually dry docking) - but here we obviously have the fallout from Hanjin bankruptcy.

Pity, she still had some life in her.

Cheers

Vlad
