I think they were always popular with shipping enthusiasts in what ever later guise that came along but as you say it was in Salen colours they looked best.

Nice shot Mike, we saw 5 in Napier but not always cooperating for decent photography like yours. Always have preferred the original Salen funnels though than later ones such as the Cool Carriers version in your shot, even had one turn up plain blue .
