Description:

Built by Defoe Shipbuilding in Bay City Michigan in 1944, this vessel was originally the Navy ship LCIL 1091. Sold in the 1960's, she became a salmon cannery vessel named BERING SEA (ON 285125). Upon retirement in 1988, she was picked up by an LCI Veteran who renamed her TEN NINETY-ONE and brought her to Eureka CA. He donated her to the Humboldt Bay Naval Sea/Air Museum group, who own her today. She has not been restored in detail to her wartime outfitting, but has been materially stabilized.
