Description:

Looking for some help, found this picture in a old family photo album, on the back written in hand is Jarvis Bay.It does look like the ship where the Captain won the VC. Can anyone confirm this is said ship??

I agree I dont think its the Jarvis Bay there does not seem to be the samson posts she had fore ward, there fore as davidships says there is a hatch missing.I also have three photos of the Aquitania leaving Southampton taken from Cowes in 1937 but sadly I dont think they are good enough to post.

Could this be one of the "M" class Shaw Savill & Albion ships from the 1920's? "MATAROA", "MAIMOA", "MAHIA","MAHANA".
I'm sure it isn't "JERVIS BAY".

Don't think that this is that JERVIS BAY. Funnel is too tall, and seems to have only two forward holds, instead of three.
