Description:
One of the most infamous ships in British history is seen here at Southampton in August 1996 alongside the Bowstream.The sand dredger BOWBELLE was the ship that ran down the pleasure cruiser Marchioness on the Thames in August 1989, resulting in 51 fatalities.Both ships were using the centre of the river and the subsequent inquiry found that there were no lookouts on either ship.
