Description:
ALCA
ex- HOEGH SILVERSTAR
On February 12,1963, the Finnish cargo ship ALCA, on voyage from Antwerp to Jacksonville with a cargo of potash and sulphate, was wrecked after a collision with Swedish cargo vessel AVAFORS in the River Schelde.
ALCA broke in two pieces when the tide was low and caused another collision and caught fire several times,
making further salvage impossible.
