Description:

This is the first in the series of four 112,800 dwt Ice-class 1A Aframax tankers for Capital Ship Management under construction at Daehan shipyard in Mokpo. The Aristaios and the Aristoklis (can be seen behind) will be delivered in 2016 while the Asklipios II and the Aristomenis II will leave the yard for the owner in 2017.

Allan, a colleague with ties to Capital confirms that these tankers are crude/uncoated. "Crude oil/products" on their website refers to crude and dirty oil products.

Thanks for your comments, Allan and Phil. I guess it all depends from the source one uses; I took the data from their investor presentation, together with some Korean sites on the total order of 4 ships. It's true that they go as COT/product in Capital's fleet list, so they will be coated, as Allan said.

Another great catch Vlad. I'm most curious that you mention the 3rd and 4th vessels in the series, as they're not going to be Capital ships with those names..

Don't wish to be contentious, but Capital web-site fleet lists the first two as ice class IC crude oil/product tankers - so I guess coated LR2 type. Second pair not yet in their list

Hi Peter, their owner states that they are Aframax size "Eco Crude Tankers".
