US Navy Ticonderoga Class Cruiser. She was commissioned in 1987, weighs 9,800 tons full load, and has a top speed of 32.5 knots. She was named after one of the largest (if not the largest) naval battles in history. She has 2 VLS Missile Groups (122 cells) that can carry SM-3 Anti Ballistic Missiles, SM-2 & SM-6 Medium-Range Long Range Surface to Air Missiles, Evolved Sea Sparrow Short Range Surface to Air Missiles, Tomahawk Land Attack Cruise Missiles, and VL-Asroc Anti Submarine Rockets. She also has Harpoon Anti Ship Missiles, 2 5" Guns, 2 20mm Phalanx Close In Weapon Systems, 12.75" ASW Torpedo Tubes, 25mm and 0.50 cal machine guns, and 2 MH-60 Series Helicopters. As a cruiser, she is able to also act as a command and control platform for other ships. She is seen here going east past Fort Monroe Hampton VA leaving Norfolk Naval Station.
