In 1940 she was acquired by Ministry of War Transport as EMPIRE ROWAN
On 27th March 1943 sunk by aircraft torpedo in Bay of Collo, NW of Bone, Algeria.

LOCHGOIL was one of the very first British ocean going motorships. Taken over by Ministry of Shipping in 1939 after being damaged by mine in the Bristol Channel on October 9th.
