Hey Jadran, I'm still in Rijeka (barely), but had to miss this big baby coming to Rijeka...

Many thanks, Vlado, for the additional information about her bulb/bulbous bow... and yes, your expression "truly historic occasion" is right on spot !
Cheers,
Jadran

PS: You were just recently at Rijeka (have recognized from one your photo); have you left again for South Korea..... !?

Great shot and a truly historic occasion for the port of Rijeka. Btw, MSC 14k TEU vessels had their bulbous bows changed last year, maybe this is why her bow looks "strange"...

Cheers

I am surprised to see, how she has a very narrow i.e."thin" bulb (at least at the top/upper part of the bulb; better view at Full Screen>Original Size)

Yes, Aljaz, everything was perfect on her arrival !!!
Perfect timing (excellent hour of arrival)... perfect weather... perfect manoeuvre of the ship for exposing herself starboard & later portside side... perfect conditions for photographing... I had just great luck this time!
Well, let's both of us capture again, the same containership that will attend port of Koper, Slovenia and subsequently port of Rijeka, Croatia the next time.
Many thanks for the kind comment, Aljaz... best regards & keep on shooting good photos.....

Well done, Jadran! I'm very happy that all of us photographers from the North Adriatic had perfect weather conditions during the arrival of MSC Paloma.

Thank you for your generous comment and kind words, Ben my dear friend!
I do try my best, taking advantage of my favourable vantage point... which is, simply to say: my balcony (BOTA) hehehe
Kind regards and very best wishes to you and your family (and of course, Tasmania) for the festive season & forthcoming year 2017,
Jadran

Well done, Jadran, that's an excellent photo, i`m very jealous of your view, not to mention some of the large vessels you have calling in there! Its hard to imagine it only being 1 deg C when you took the photo, it looks almost like a summer`s morning with the nice deep blue.
Have a good weekend mate. Regards from Ben.

For this very special occasion of the arrival MSC PALOMA to Rijeka, I must admitt that I have "specially" prepared myself:
Stand-by... watching towards the horizon the whole early morning for the ship, suitably placed the tripod in my bedroom, etc... and shot the pics with my 2 cameras (Nikon Coolpix S9300 and Nikon D5200).... and now, I do hope that all the shot pics will be good & attractive!

Thank you very much my dear friends Volker, Clyde, Husni, Marinko (rivanj), Emmanuel, Jim and once again Emmanuel, for your great & pleasing comments ... which contents are being much appreciated !
Kind regards,
and my sincere very best wishes to you (and your family) for the festive season & forthcoming year 2017,
Jadran

PS
Weather condition this morning of 16/12/2016 at Rijeka:
Bright sunshine, strong NE wind, early morning temperature in minus... -1 °C (photo captured from my bedroom window at 9:24 LT >> probably, outside temp. +1 °C by then)
