WELCOME TO SHIPSPOTTING.COM
Description:
Operated by Salenrederierna, Sweden, the reefer Rosemary originated from the shortlived Island Fruit Reefers shipping venture and was built in March 1969 as Guavacore. Although operating under the Israeli flag, she was managed by the the Mayfair, London, office that was established also in 1969. A few years later she was renamed Guava and then t/f to Panama flag and r/n Rosemary in 1980, under the control of Hamburg based Ganymed. She was fixed to load meat from Napier to the Black Sea in September 1983 and is seen departing Napier after completing loading. In 1985, she was sold to another shortlived operation "Bassro", that briefly owned reefers and car carriers in the mid eighties but carried the name Bassro Freezer for barely a year before being sold to Greeks and r/n Frio Antarctic. She was chartered to Cool Carriers who picked up much of Salen's business after their collapse in the mid eighties, and was finally broken up at Alang 29.10.93.
