Description:
Seen at Palma, Majorca, in July 1991,is the type 401 Tender A-69 DONAU of the Deutsche Marine. Built by Schlichting of Travemunde in 1964 she served until 1995 when she was sold for one German mark to the Turkish Navy,for whom she still sails as A-577 SOKULLU MEHMET PASA.

this is a German type 401 Tender of the Deutsche Marine. Vessels of this type were built by Schlicker (Hamburg), Schlichting (Travemünde), Lindenau (Kiel) and Lürssen (Bremen) in the 60's. This one, A-69 DONAU (Schlichting-built in 1964; sold for 1 German Mark to the turkish Navy in 1995!???), was my "home"! New name: Sokullu Mehmet Pasa (A-577); still in service today!
