I am very lucky that the pilot boat skippers are friends and their ability to put me in the right place safely is just as important as the result.

Brings back some memories. About 40 years ago, in a 40 foot sailboat between Hong Kong and Manila, trying to get out of the way of a ship that was still some distance off. Did not want to get this close. I know we could see it, not sure it could really see us.

We lucked out. It passed about a mile or so from us. Skipper said that was still too close!
