Theo (Captain Ted) has it right, I was on the pilot boat and the idea is to watch the sea in conjunction with the pilot boat which has to stop so there is less spray and if the timing comes off a picture like this is the result.
As to photoshop it is not on my computer, just a slight tweak of the contrast etc.

I reckon that tops your shot of the Orion a few years back ( if that is at all possible ).
I cant imagine how you got that shot without being lashed to the boat !!!
And no doubt your shoes are still drying out !!
