Description:
Single Point Mooring Buoy aground in Port Taranaki after recent storms.

The buoy is 17 metres in diameter and about 11m high, is an offshore single buoy mooring device to be used at NZ Steel's Taharoa Mine site, near the Kawhia Harbour, Waikato. It will pump ironsands via 2 pipelines to waiting ships in slurry form of 50/50. Ships that use it are TAHAROA DESTINY, TAHAROA EOS & TAHAROA PROVIDENCE.

..... in Technical/Offshore terminology known as the "Single Point Mooring Buoy" :)
