Bad news from Maritime Herald
http://www.maritimeherald.com/2016/cruise-ship-norwegian-star-delayed-asia-cruise-after-azipod-failure/
“On the evening of December 10, while departing the port of Singapore, Norwegian Star experienced a technical issue with one of the ship’s azipods”, said the company operator in official statement. “The ship has returned to port so that the azipod can be inspected further by a team from the manufacturer”, adds the statement.

Norwegian Cruise Line informed the passengers about the route changes and also made very sumptuous compensation offers, as the guests will get their entire travel price reimbursed and a 50% voucher for the next cruise."

AND MORE
NSW Branch of WSS has been told "there have been some ugly scenes on board involving angry passengers, as they have missed five of the ten ports that were included in the original itinerary from Hong Kong to Sydney."

@Clyde: You're right about the benefits, I got them too from the problems back in december 2016. But not every passenger will be happy with that. Well, I am!

Parmelia I has today gone back to Port Kembla. It seems she is needed when ICS Allegiance and Anatoma cannot handle the work, or perhaps ??? whose price can be undercut

Save up for a spare battery!!! It's a great comfort when enjoying the release from the constraints of film

Is Parmelia 1 a new addition to the harbour ? Seems problem with my camera is a faulty battery. Easy fix!

Thanks Tony. Some will be pleased to benefit from the problems! Those who get a free trip now and a half price one later.
Tough luck about the camera - I hope it is fixable.

Clyde, forgot to mention, I went to the Quay to photograph her - alas camera failure. Happy though you captured the event.

Clyde, very nice shot of this new entry into the Australian cruise market, not a good start. I am led to believe the azipod failure was prior to her actual re positioning voyage. Stand to be corrected!
