Converted to a container ship in 1979, conventional cargo gear was replaced by cranes and the bridge was raised to improve visibility when containers were stowed on deck. She was lengthened by 22.4 m during conversion as well.

Built at Mitsui, Japan for late Michael A. Karageorgis (Micael A. Karageorgis S.A., Piraeus, Greece) and within very short time vessel was sold on to Hansa, Germany. Later she was sold on to Cosmamare of Capt Costas Costantakopoulos (CARMEN ALBA). A very commercially popular and versatile vessel.
