When the tragic episode of the Prestige in september 2002, Pescanova's freezer trawler Komukandi caught up to 2 tons of fuel on the high sea, with one of the new giant funnels that were constructed by Cardomar company. A nice contribution that unfortunately didn't prevent the fuel from affecting spanish, portuguese and french coasts!

Former Cassard(2003), KOMUKANDI is owned by the company SKELETON COAST TRAWLING (PTY) LTD, based in Lüderitz(Namibia). This deep-sea trawler has been designed by Beliard Murdoch shipyards(Ostend - Belgium), in 1974.
